Christmas Punch – citrus thirst-quencher to knock you out

A large bowl of tangerines and a few other forlorn citrus fruits were revived by some not-so-seasonal booze, as was the family member who’d resorted to playing patience.

  • 300ml Mount Gay rum
  • 150ml Martini Rosso
  • 75ml Campari
  • 500ml citrus juiceI squeezed 8 tangerines, 2 oranges, 2 lemons and a lime. I would be sniffy about juice from a carton
  • 175ml cranberry juiceI guess you could squeeze your own, but that’s a step too far even for me
  • 300ml ginger ale
  • 10 drops of orange bittersAngostura would work well too
  • 1 lime, 1 tangerine – thinly sliced

Stir all the ingredients with ice in a large jug. Makes 1.5l – enough for eight glasses – each full of ice, a slice of lime and of tangerine. Cocktail brollies obligatory.
